It has an amazing panoramic view of the area to the south of both mesas –another indication that the primary enemies were from that direction –as well as clear line of sight views to the "Pepsi Cap" lookout, ten miles to the south, and the lookout up on the Bradshaw mountains several miles to the west, which itself had line of sight to all the forts on the Perry and Black Mesa plateaus. So a signal sent from this fort would be seen from the Bradshaw fort, which could then make a signal seen by all the mesa forts below at once.
A look at a few of the many ruins of central Arizona, most dating from 1100 to 1450. Unfortunately very few have been excavated, so, as with any ruins you come across, please take only photos and leave artifacts where you find them.

Drone photos of the Henrie fort; Oct 30, 2018
There seem to be no good representations from above of the Henrie Fort (a.k.a. the Flyby Fort) on Black Mesa so here is a drone photo and a ‘map’ of the site that I’ve worked up from that.
